This was pretty badly swirled. Just got my foam cannon recently and this was the 1st car I've used it on and I must say I love it. Unless the car is pretty clean overall, you still need to do a traditional wash but it greatly reduces the chances of scratching the car IMHO.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take after photos! I got a call from my buddy at 2 am saying that his car got towed and he needed a ride. Ended up only getting 4 hrs of sleep that night. Owner came back right when I was finishing up and since I was running on fumes by then, I forgot. sorry guys...


Process

Pre-rinse with pressure washer
Foam cannon
2 bucket wash
Dryed with waffle weave/blow dryed crevices
clayed the car
Polish - Prima Swirl - Makita 9227c - Orange LC Pad
Fine Polish - Prima Finish - Makita 9227c - White LC Pad
Prima Amigo - Porter Cable 7336 - White LC Pad
Zaino Z2pro /w ZFX accelerator
Zaino Z8 Grande Finale Spray

Before shot. Lots of chips on front bumper. If I ever get a black car, I would clear bra the front bumper and hood.

After 3 mins. Thick foam still clinging on and breaking up all that dirt!


A way to tell if there is wax protection is to see if there is any beading. Do you see any? I don't.


Now that the car is clean, lets see the true condition of the paint. :eek:




After claying half the trunk


Busting out the big guns. Rotary with Swirl on Orange LC pad.


Test panel turned out great. Now I just need to repeat this process with the whole car.

Another 50/50. Notice how the polished side is darker. Even black can get blacker.

Headlights really need to be restored. All hazy and yellow.

After wetsanding with 1200, 1500, 2000 & 2500 grit sandpaper, compounding, & polishing.
