Question Throttle Body Sensor on DBW Blew Out... Can it be fixed?

    Hi there,

My sensor blew on my 2001 A4 1.8T throttle body. Does anyone know if that is a replaceable item or is the throttle body a paper weight now?

Here are photos of my broken throttle body:

    Thanks!

I do not know if it came be fixed. Sorry. But if you need to repalce it, go with a bigger one from 034.

Crap, I really hope you're wrong. I was hoping to fix it up and have it as a spare since I bought a new one down at waterfest (when it blew out on me).

I tried bba-reman today. Turns out they only do repairs on the nDBW throttle bodies. The dealership wouldn't give me a replacement part # either. Guess this thing might really be a paper weight.

I just got finished opening it up and I'm really not sure what blew out to be honest.

What should I be looking for?

Usually the block "cover"" goes bad.Why dont you try cleaning it with a little electrical cleaner and seeing if it will work?

Bringing this back to life since I finally got around to cleaning and testing out the throttle body.

Issam, you were right. After cleaning the contacts on the black cover and letting it sit out to make sure everything was dry (there was a lot of humidity when it failed on me at waterfest) I plugged it back in and it worked fine. It also passed the adaptation tests so it looks like it is good to go again.

That's it, just wanted to post up the solution.

    Thanks guys!
