Unhappy Stage 2 REVO Issues some help pls

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
just got my car flashed from stock straight to stage 2 REVO and its not running right.

Car ran fine and peaked at 12-13 psi and held about 9-10 psi and now everytime i let it loose it starts shaking at 11psi and only peaks at 15 psi while still shaking.

Sometimes it shakes at 8 psi and only holds there. I threw some codes which were random misfires, cylinder 1,2, and 4 misfires so i changed the spark plugs and it still continues to do it.

Im thinking coil packs next but the car idles fine and doesnt shake or anything unless im boosting above 5psi.

Anyone having the same issues? Or know a solution to this??

    probably coilpacks.

also, seems like they tuned down your revo stage 2. im guessing you dont have all the supporting mods? (exhaust, fmic, DV...you must have injectors right? or it wouldnt be stage 2 at all lol) getting all of the above will also help it run better.

i have AWE turbo back exhaust, Evo DV, Carbonio intake, ER FMIC, and all the bolt-on goodies and 380cc injectors so its technically stage 1+ but REVO just calls it stage 2

uhh why is your boost so low then? i was spiking 20 and holding 18 on my old b6 revo2...also, im pretty sure stock you make 9lbs of boost...maybe you should go back and talk to your tuner?

the 12-13 psi spikes were on stock ecu but with the REVO the car starts shaking at 11-15psi and then cuts off to 8-10psi

oh alright. well if you havnt replaced your coils yet do that. mine went bad on my old car after my revo flash. so its not like its doesnt happen. i got the hitachi coils from ECS (b5a4 coils) because i have read over and over again that they are stronger and better. and i have no complaints running them in either of my 2 b6's.

since this is sorta relative... because i recently got REVO 2'd as well, with all the supporting mods..

i want to put in new spark plugs, but i can't get a definite answer one which ones i should go with.. can anybody help?? i think i'm running rich (but that could be mainly because of the Test Pipe... haha)

    thanx..

and good luck with the fix, i have no idea why it's acting the way it is.. mine seems to have no problems..

i ran denso iridium IK24's on my old b6 and i liked them. $50 for a set though. for stock a4's IK22's were recommended, so i went with IK24's so they would run 1 step colder. test pipe shouldnt make you run rich with revo2 because it elimates the CEL, therefore the ECU sees nothing wrong and doesnt change the fuel trim.

i just went with the $2 NGK's (same as stock) to see if that fixed the problem but it didnt so i might upgrade plugs some day, changing coil packs in coupe hours...

Re: Stage 2 REVO Issues some help pls

Hey guys since its kinda familiar i figured in chime in with my problem

i Just bought my audi B6 A4 and it seems all it had done to it was a REVO SPS3 the guy showed me how to switch it from stock (option1)to performance (option2) and thats it !!! there is so many more options well i was wondering if this sps was simply a stock application ??

i just ordered my podi boost gauge and a 007 Dv and Rs4 rear sway can anyone give me some info on this sps?

heres a couple of things ive noticed wile revo switched on perfomance

    1. at around 3500 rpm (peak boost?) my car begins to stutter as if the boost is being cut short or leaking (this is why i got the dv)

    2. some nasty as rattling sound tension pulley i believe?

    3. CEL after it being on for 2 days or less (catalyst something . . . . ) it will turn off soon after i switch it back to stock

its awesome the turbo spools really loud sounds like a jet is warming up next to me at times. . haha

i run stock most of the time just because im not sure if i might damage anything with the revo and no upgrades. .

car appears bone stock any input would be great

Re: Stage 2 REVO Issues some help pls

You essentially have the stage 1 REVO chip. It is not stock. All the SPS does is upload ECU programming from an aftermarket company to add performance. It may void your CPO warranty if you have one. You should be fine leaving the REVO "on" all the time. The codes you're getting should be tracked down and fixed.

Re: Stage 2 REVO Issues some help pls

well when i run the revo i get cel if i put it back to stock it clears the code (in time)
The original box says (sps3, anti theft and boost controler)

There is two rotating dials on the sps the first one is used to choose from
    1. stock
    2. performance
    3. low boost
    4. high boost
    5. timing range (?)
    6. not used
    7. not used
    8. Anti theft on
    9. Anti theft off

The only time the second dial comes into effect is when you wanna mess with injector timing and boost according to the booklet. .

So when you get a optimal boost/injector timing you save it to 2.(Performance) am i right? so then you can just switch from that and stock for when you need to/ dealer service etc. . .

does this sound right? sorry if this post seems repetitive

well if it is a stage 1 what upgrades should i be looking at to optimize this setup?

anyone experience the loud rattling wile accelerating? sounds horrid

Re: Stage 2 REVO Issues some help pls

Yeah I've experienced it too. I got flashed and burned through a couple coilpacks the first day. For me, when the turbo begins to kick in around 3000 rpms, i get a stutter, but only in certain gears. Gears 1 and 2 are okay, but when I get to 3 and 4, WOT, is when I get the stutter around 3000-3500. Changed plugs, coilpacks, got a DV, and it still happens. Burned through 2 coilpacks in under a week (same cylinder, #2). Not sure what's up, it may be a bad plug wire or dirt around the injector, but I'm hoping its not the ICM.

Let me know if you get it fixed. Replacing coilpacks just seem like a band aid, a temporary solution.
