with all this water/meth talk latley..

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i thought for sure i would of read about some one mounting a container in the trunk instead of having to use the washerfluid resivior. being that im sure many of us that drive our cars many miles daily find the windshield washer fluid very useful (esp in winter w/ salt and such) ive seen this done in evos several times... has anyone done this or plan on doing this? ... i do but stage 3 is more of a priority to me right now and wont get around to it till at least winter thanks

Just got mine in last week... This is where we mounted it.

2.5 gallons. Pump is mounted underneath the tank..Fits very nicely. Everything will be covered like stock once it is complete.

Re: with all this water/meth talk latley..

You could technically run the meth pump off the stock windshield fluid reservoir and keep the stock sprayers. For what it's worth, our stock tank holds about 1 gallon which lasts a bit more than a tank of gas.

Meddies setup is really nice if you want a larger reservoir and don't want to fill up at every tank of gas.

that is pretty much what i was looking for awesome... i think it would get annoying only having the 1 gallon tank also(ie washerfluid tank) ... definetly share your finished product pictures and install tips... thanks

But if your going to be advancing the timing.. or running a race gas file, you will want to make sure you dont run out of water/meth. That is why I find it very handy to have that stupid "volcano" light turn on when you get low ;)

Im running the HFS-1 from Aquamist and I wouldn't have done it any other way. In my opinion, if you're at the point where you want WI, do it right. Failsafe is a great feature, as well as the low level indicator.

I will post pics and everything once it is complete. If you are stage 3 and thinking about doing it, do it. With ER's and the HFS-1 running, Im seeing a decrease in my IAT's on a FATS run...

AMD in Washington sells it for 675 I believe, and they include 3 .7mm jets instead of the different sized. Its more S4 specific. Best price Ive seen.

Re: with all this water/meth talk latley..

Can you clarify something, if you just run the meth setup, but dont modify your tuning for it, you would reap benefits right? At least a colder IAT and higher octane...that maybe your tune, or ME7 would adjust slightly for...

However on the above scenario, b/c you havent tuned for it specifically it doesnt matter if you suddenly run out of meth right? I mean it would just return to stock and thats that right? No failsafe needed..

Now if you tuned for it, I understand the need for a failsafe.

Can someone confirm im on the same page, is that correct ^.

^^^^ Was just wondering the same thing....

But I don't think the ecu would adapt. Because you only get a higher octane when w/m is injected at a predetermined boost threshold, so it wouldn't be constant enough for the ecu to even recognize it. And from what I've experienced when filling up my tank with 100+ octane gas, it took the ecu a good 30 miles to adjust. So I guess the only advantage I see with w/m without tuning would be the lower IAT's.

but i don't know, I could be wrong.

Yup that's correct. W/M lowers IAT's by mixing with the intake air. It also acts as an octane booster because it lowers the CF's and enriches the fuel mixture slightly. When CF's drop, the ECU adapts a little bit by running a more aggressive and smoother timing curve based on the map which is programmed into the tune. When CF's rise, the ECU starts to pull timing until the CF's again become acceptable. So in short, yes, the ECU will adapt a little bit, and yes, even if you don't change your tune, you should run slightly better timing if the tune is already running an aggressive timing curve for the fuel you're using.

All that was there was the 6-disc CD changer...didn't want it anyway.

Also, for the guys wondering about not being tuned for it...I saw 7 more degrees of timing by just turning the WI on, without any lemmiwinks. Definitely noticeably faster, just keeps pulling. One of the best mods Ive done.

I was thinking the same thing.

So something like this would be cool, a low water level transmitter.

    http://www.liquidlevel.com/products_...CND-Series.asp

It is attached to a relay, so just put a tiny LED in the kick panel. Once it lights up, you're water is low.

yeah not a bad idea.. but I mean honestly I would rather utilize the things that are already in place. Maybe I am just lazy though to run a few hoses all the way through the cabin and wires etc.. ehh too much work
