Anyone Have Tips on How To Remove a Layer of Paint?

So i just picked up an S4 bumper yesterday and it was painted primer black. I got it home and got to looking at it and noticed that in a few places the black paint was chipping and under it was perfect Silver Paint! Which would perfect for me since my car is silver! I tried using a pressure washer with hopes that that would continue flaking off the paint but not alot of payoff for alot of time invested. I can pick it off with my fingernail but i will be there till I die. So i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how to go about removing the primer layer of paint to expose the silver beneath it, or am i just screwed and just need to get it repainted? Thanks!

i'd think you'd need it repainted. you can sand but that would mess up the silver under it. really not much you can do but have it painted without wasting a crapload of time

Paint goes on paint like a hobo goes on a ham sandwich. You'll have to repaint it unfortunately

you can try patiently wetsanding it. If it doesn't work out too well then you only wasted time and have to repaint it.
