a new rear valence? i never took one off before...thought it can be removed without taking off the whole bumer but henry said i'll prolly have to take the whole bumper off first.

anyone here done this before?

from what i've read, it looks like each end has a rivet behind the wheel, in the wheelwell, and there are tabs that have to be unclipped from the inside to slide them out all along. i looked undernearth mine and there are 3 quarter turning screws that have to be undone too.

other than that, looks like it can be removed fairly easily. I just need to get under there and take a good look at it.

hmm, seeing as how i'd like to keep the old one, that wouldn't work so well.

I took a look underneath and found all the tabs, but not sure where the rivets are on each side. Maybe it'd be easier with a jack.

i'll probably have to take the whole bumper off. still would need a jack to get to the Torx screw holding the liners on. Damn low cars.

took the bumper off yesterday, took the s4 valance off, tried to fit the new one on, and a couple of the tabs are misaligned with the stock holes. i'll have to cut a couple new holes to fit those tabs.

so no jack needed...but a dremel or cutting tool is.

Have a dremel, jig saw, hack saw, drill and bits, radial saw, table , Glock 22 and a shank if you need them

Just read your thread now chard. It's been a while since I installed a body kit on a B5. If I remember, you don't have to take off the rear bumper, just jack up the car and take off the rear wheels. It seems that you already went ahead and took off the rear bumper, so good luck at Gino's and take some pics. If you need extra help lemme know.
