    Re: Driveshaft interchangeability?

Just make sure it's from a Quattro as FWD will not fit on to your gear box

    Re: Driveshaft interchangeability?

well its the center driveshaft, so wouldnt that imply it HAS to be quattro, as its going to the back of the car?

also, its from an avant 1.8t, arent all avants quattro?

Thats the prop shaft not drive shaft and you made no ref to it being the center drive shaft and here in the UK not all Avants are Quattro and in the 1.8T model we only got Quattro on the face lift model and only the Quattro got the K03's Turbo.

We also have none Turbo Avants here in the 1.8 so there is lots to learn.

    Re: Driveshaft interchangeability?

Best to always cross-reference part numbers in anycase.

As Doc noted, many different configurations here in Europe which are not common back in the 'States...my 1.8T is FWD. Do not see too many Quattro B5's here in France (at least in the south). Do see a whole variety of motors, though...1.6, 1.8, 1.8T, 1.9TD, 2.8, 2.9TD and of course the venerable RS4 2.7T. Always keeping an eye out for that RS4 with the for sale sign...someday.

    Cheers,

    Steve
