Is the Window Regulator worth DIY???

I recieved the replacement regulator for my front passenger window but the installation looks like it could be a pain. Is it worth it to install this myself or should I just take it to a shop?

depends on your patience, I did it on a 2000 new beetle, much the same, and getting the cable on is a pain, there is 2 kits available, the rebuild kit and the entire regulator you just pop in instead of the old one, if you have a few hours to kill, and like to tinker around, go for it, if you earn more at your job than the hourly rate at the local shop get it done!

well i just bought a used regulator from A&P Auto Specialties Parts Sales which should work fine. And I am a college student so I make no where near the amount the shop wants to charge ($190+ @ Napa Auto Center)

Ive done it on a couple jettas in the past, didnt take too long, but I never had to replace the one on my B5. Its just time consuming, but not too hard.
