    Calipers stuck after brake job

Well I installed new hawk HPS pads and new rotors from adam. On my A4 yesterday. I should mention I have B5S4 upgrades on there for about 10K. When I was driving home they were making bad noises and didn't feel right. So I took the car to pepboys for a free brake inspection and they are telling me my calipers stuck and I need to resurface the rotors and need new pads. He also said there is no way to unstick the calipes once they are like that. So now I just threw all my money down the drain for pads and rotors and didn't even get that much use out of my B5S4 calipers. I don't want to waste my money for new calipers again so I guess I will throw by old OEM B6 rotors on there . Any suggestions?

    Can slotted rotors be resurfaced?

Ouch guy... that sucks... are only the front S4 calipers stuck? How many miles did they have on them when you bought them? Did you follow the bedding procedure?

They may be able to be resurfaced if it is a light cut, I would shoot Adam an email to ask.. it may be an issue if they were over heated and now they're warped

I personally think they were seized at all other wise they wouldn't have worked at all. They seem to work fine now my stopping is ok, and there is no more noises anymore so i don't know what to do now. I think i am just going to leave them on and see if they get any better or worse.

What exactly did pepboys mean by seized? Were the slider seized? this can be fixed, the other issue may have been too much thicknes as a result of the new pad disc combo, maybe the pads are rubbing and wearing into place, now you are building up a little clearence between the pads and disc, so when you let go of the brakes now there is a little space, thus no rubbing, no noise. Unless the pistons are seized there is no reason to change the calipers, if the discs have not been overheated and warped they should be OK, same for the pads, I am not too sure how reoutible pepboys are but look into it further before ripping parts off and spending $$$, especially igf you say the discs and pads are new!
BTW sometimes it is cheaper to buy rebuilt caliper for the upgrade and lose the core charge, than buying used ones. that is what I am going to do.

They were trying to tell me it was going to be $1100 for all new everything. thats when i was like yeah ok i will just take my care now.

Thanks for the help i think they are getting better. Im pretty sure they are now warped other wise my car would be shaking really bad when i apply the brakes.
