Let me know what you think about this set up on a quattro 2.0T.

19x8.5 ET 35 in the front and 19x9.5 ET 40 in the rear.

    Thanks

Center diff failure. Funny, there was a recent thread in the S4/RS4 forum in relation to a failed center diff and staggered wheel setups recently

depends on tire setup....best setup would be 235/35/19 and 265/30/19. less than 1% difference in overall rolling diameter....

Out of interest, why would people use staggered offsets and rim widths on quattros? Aren't the factory width and offset identical for both front and rears?

why a staggered set up? I don't understand this, isn't that counter productive on an all wheel drive car. Not to mention it seems like the sensors that read traction and adjust accordingly would not like this at all.

If these thoughts are wrong I apologize, I am more familiar with rear drive musclecars that run staggered for traction purposes. The audi is new and so is all wheel drive to me.

Re: Would there be any Quattro issues with this set up?

I personally like the look of a staggered setup. If the overall tire diameter is very close (under 3%), I don't see why it would be a problem. Worn back tires and decent front tires would be more than 3% difference in overall diameter. Hell, losing air pressure in the rear would throw it off. I wish I could run a setup as k20actr mentioned because there is barely a difference between front and rear, but some manufacturers don't have both sizes. Also check your manual. It also states 5% difference front/rear.
