Installed "New" Symphony II but no sound or volume??

And the CD button, SAT button, don't seem to function. My old Symphony II had the SAT button and I at least got the XM preview channel. Why wouldn't the volume work? Now, my old Symphony II was Bose, or at least that was the first thing on the screen. But even when I plugged back in the old unit, the volume and SAT button wouldn't work on that any longer. What could be the problem?

is the new radio coded for bose?

I guess I'm not sure if its coded for Bose. Does it need to be coded for SAT also? Why wouldn't the volume work?

I never had to enter the SAFE code when I plugged back in my original headunit. Might that be the reason? The car still thinks its the other headunit?
