Dealer wants a buck fifty just to tell me what wrong with my car! I think MAF is the culprit. P171 code... car is running lean... its the second number that was out of range. I cleaned MAF and my car seemed to be back to normal but two days later on a three hour trip CEL came back on. I just need to buy a VAG but need to know who has the best for the money? Also, if anybody has some other quick fixes I could try in the mean time that'd be sweet.

Next time you are in Olympia I can log your maf for you... You can try the VW dealer for a MAF as they should be about $120...

Unplug your MAF. DBW cars have map sensors. If it runs a lot better, which it probably will, replace the maf. I got 2 from ECS tuning, the Bosch ones, and they went bad in both A4's 6-8 months...

No warranty for electronics btw....
