Questions about TT Install: UPDATE: INSTALLED!!!!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have the TT wheel on and all i need to do is plug in the airbag, i have the harness for the TT wheel but it is different then the harness on my regular a4 steering wheel, do i just rewire the TT harness using the original plug, the TT plug will not fit into the SC Ring. The wheel looks so amazing, and i want this to work. I didn't buy a new SC Ring or module because i'm not using the multifunction. Please help me!!!

    thanks in advance.

Re: URGENT!!! HELP!!! Questions About TT WHeel Install

I thought I answered your PM on this one. Look at the two plugs. Are they the same config? I found that the TT plug was only slightly different in that there are tabs on the side that are different between the two. I trimmed off the side tab that didn't align with the S/C plug socket. You do not need to reconfugure the airbag wiring and you're not using multifunction.

Important - make sure to disconnect battery whenever working on airbag.

    Looks cool. 2 questions:

    1) does the horn work?
    2) is it not the same color as your interior?

Glad you were able to get this to work! The wheel is amazing, isn't it? Did you trim the plug as I suggested?

Multifunction only pertains to Radio/RNS-E/Nav/Bluetooth functions. You need to upgrade your S/C ring, control module and vag-com to get it to work. Look at the write-up by HX_Guy. Multifunction wheels are also made with paddle shifters for tiptronic cars.

Re: Questions about TT Install: UPDATE: INSTALLED!!!!!

i trimmed the hell out of the clip like you said and the clip can be installed in either position and i think i installed it upside down because my horn doesn't work and my air bag light is on, so tomororw i'm going to take it apart and flip the plug around and see if that fixes it. We'll see, otherwise i will just go buy VAG-Com and reset my airbag light. I will also take pictures of the install for future people. oh and by the way the wheel is absolutely amazing and it matches the interior or it's very similar were you don't notice.
