how can you distinguish an ultrasport A4 from a regular one I guess ... and the .5 deals how do you know which is yours ... I believe i have a 2004.5 ... Thanx guys

It will sit lower, it has blades on the doors and a spoiler in the rear. Inside will have some Aluminum trim. Should I send you an invoice for the Fitee cint? LOL Post a pic, we will tell you...LOL

It's pretty simple, the half year means nothing because all USPs look the same. Since they started in 2004.5 then you can assume your 2004 is a 2004.5. As for being able to tell the difference, a USP has different front and rear bumper, door sils, sport suspension, trunk spoiler, 18" RS4 wheels, and an upper stress bar under the hood. The interior only comes in ebony black leather, air leather steering wheel, air leather shift knob and aluminium trim.

Really? I'm going to check the next time I see a USP at a show! I've always wondered about an upper stress bar for our cars but have never seen one.

Yep...looks just like mine! Except mine came with covers for the top section of the bay (where the battery lives).

Only the 2004 and older have the cover, the 2004.5's removed the cover and replaced it with a smaller piece just for the cabin filter housing. B7's don't have the cover as well.

there is also a regular sport package.. you will know because in comes with yellow koni shocks and it sit lower... mine is a winter sport package 04 a4 1.8t quattro 6spd.. because i go snowboarding like two times a week in the winter.. woop woop...

What does the body look like? painted lowers? Door blades on the bottom, a spolier on the trunk?

Sport shocks are red on any A4 equipped with the sport package, yellow is aftermarket Koni.

The stress bar does not go over the top of the bay, you have to look down behind the wall in front of the battery. You probably will not notice it unless you have another non USP A4 to reference to. Only the USP has the stress bar, A4s with the sport package did not get it.

USPs started before 2004.5. 2004.5 is when regular A4s got factory painted lowers. USPs started with the first 2004 models which came out at the end of 2003. To spot a USP, look for the exterior bodykit (bumpers, side wings, trunk lip spoiler), aluminum trim, perforated leather steering wheel & shift knob, black interior (no other interior color option available), and the 18" RS4 wheels.

That's not true. The strut-tower stress bar comes on ALL sport package-equipped A4s.

The Ultrasport has the same suspension as the regular sport package.

Excellent...I have more of a USP than I thought I did! Almost all the way to a full USP conversion.

Just got the car back from the body shop. Side skirts and lower spoilers are painted...lookin' hot!

do a search... chrome is on the 3.0, black on the 1.8... it's apparently a bi0tch to change out... enjoy black for now.

The cheap way or the right way.

Cheap way, you can go to your favorite Auto Parts store and buy the chrome molding with double-sided tape and cut to fit.

Right way, go to the dealer and order the trim for a 3.0 B6 and put it on.

Chrome could look nice on your black A4. Might also want to look into In.Pro mirror covers to complement the look. There is a photo of a black A4 on the A4:Mods site

Well, there is a slightly cheaper way, instead of the dealer ask one of the folks here that can get Audi genuine parts cheaper than the dealer can sell you one...sometimes it is as such as 20-40% off what the dealer will want. Same parts and you would be helping out a member of this board. Karma is strong in these forums...one day you are giving help, next time you are asking for it. I've personally worked with member: 400HPA4. Pleasant experience.

The 2005 USP package included an S-line badge on the steering wheel.

Also someone mentioned USPs having chrome window moldings. Not true. The chrome moldings were standard on all 3.0 engined models. 1.8t cars get black, regardless of whether they have USP.
