    Suspension for 18" Rims

The Audi, I just purchased from my friend, has HUGE 18" rims. They look ridiculous and its raised so high it looks like I could fit another Audi underneath it. What should I do to lower it to make it look normal? Or is 18" just to big to fit on a 1999 audi?

Lower it. It will make the wheels look better.

    Re: Suspension for 18" Rims

You're going to get crap for asking this because there is an extensive "wheel and suspension" thread covering everything, but to answer your question directly, simply get some sport springs and sport shocks (I have H&R springs and Bilstein shcoks). Almost everyone here runs 18's, so no worries. This will lower your car to an attractive stance, improve handling, and won't drain your wallet as much as coilovers.

    Re: Suspension for 18" Rims

Ditto above comments. Without either lowering springs or coilovers you are looking like a 4x4. Coilovers if you have the money, as they will allow you to dial in the height that you want. Springs and shocks if you want to save some money. Check out the suspension forum, it will give you plenty of ideas.

like the guys said.. you just need to lower it. i find 18's fit really well on b5 a4's.
i'm only lowered on h&r sport springs and i think the 18's fit really well with the car

Will the stock sport suspension be good enough for the 18's?

May be I should really upgrade to coilover if I change to 18's.

How about stock sport shocks with H&R race springs?
I am afraid that the shocks will die easily though.

Will my car look like this even with the 2.8 quattro? What shocks do you run with your setup and does it ever bottom out? My biggest fear is bottoming out and not being able to align the car within factory specs and of course TIRE RUBBING. Thanks for any info you can provide....

    Re: Suspension for 18" Rims

Sport springs will give you a better ride, better handling, and better overall performance than race springs. These cars have a fancy multi link front suspension that doesn't like to be lowered too far.

Vogtland sports over Konis or Bilsteins is a great combo.
