Do I need new brake pads?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Should these be replaced? Cleaned up/filed down a bit for better edges contact? Or do they look fine & normal?

My other brake pads look much more "normal" (no surface rust, smooth edges etc) but the following pics are my front-passenger brakes.

    The history is...
-- Bought car 6 months ago (supposedly new-ish front brakes)
-- New OEM rear brakes 2 months ago (and happy)
-- Used light amount of brake cleaner about 1.5 months ago on rotors
-- Shortly thereafter, have noticed consistent brake squeal at moderate braking force - not with heavy or light pedal force...not sure where from either

    PICS:

    Thoughts?

i would say if you have the cash, do it. Last thing you want is warped rotors.

    ^ 2nd

Go get yourself some brake anti-squeal compound and smear the backs of the pads and also put some on the pad springs.

    Cheers.
