Usually you hear about heat soak on turbo cars but since these V8's run so damn hot (remember that's a big engine stuffed into a small compartment) the motor is really affected by this - mine was anyway. After installing the K&N and going back to the stock air box there was a huge improvement and the car seems to pull much smoother - also no more surge off the line after sitting at a stop light. Remember too, Audi spends millions of dollars on R&D for these cars. There was a lot of thought that went into the stock air box and if you look at it compared to some of the so called CAI's, the stock box actually looks like it would keep more hot air out anyway. IMHO, the CAI's that are currently on the market are all hype. Anyway, unless you really want to spend money on something that isn't going to do a damn thing, I would stick with a drop in filter. That, DP's (downpipes) a cat-back and soon you can pick up the new VF supercharger. Happy modding!!!!!!!
