Looking for your opinion on wheel color for my Dolphin Gray B7 S4. Right now I am pretty set on the VMR RS4 Replicas in 18", but I can't decide on the color. Right now I am kind of leaning toward the Onyx Black, but am just not quite sure. I am also open to other wheels if you think there would be something else that would really set off my car. Here is my car help me out

    Re: Help Me Decide

I would do 19" since it would be a way to lessen the factory wheel gap but 19" weigh a bit more than 18" and even though the difference in weight is marginal it is still a factor in the unsprung weight. I know it is kind of lame and I don't track the car, but it just helps me sleep at night knowing I have that ever so slight advantage of a couple of pounds haha.

    Re: Help Me Decide

19's weigh more if you buy shitty reps.
    My 19's weigh 19lbs a piece.
Buying quality wheels = problem solved

    Re: Help Me Decide

Not a hater, you are right quality wheels will weigh less, usually from the process and materials i.e forge vs cast. But quality wheels are much more expensive and if I cubed one or even had a scuff from daily driving it would eat me up more than cheeper wheels that I know I could replace for much less.

do it right once, and then forget about it...I mean, buy quality wheels...get something that only a few people have...then it won't look like another black S4 with RS4s...

    Re: Help Me Decide

Let me revise this a little bit, how about color opinions? What do you think would set off the Dolphin Gray. I am thinking silver to accent the window and side mirror trim, or black as a contrast to the paint, or even gunmetal for uniformity? If this needs to be moved please do so sorry.

I think hyper silver looks great on stock looking vehicles. Its going to accent your cars color very nicely. Gunmetals probably going to look a bit aggressive for your cars current state (cosmetically). You should get some of our new V710 wheel. 19x8.5 +35.

    Re: Help Me Decide

Personally, I like the RS4's - I know, everyone has them, blah blah blah. My opinion is that it's going to be pretty damn hard for you, and relatively expensive, to find a wheel that's going to be original/not played out AND look great.

Go with what you like Technik - and for my buck, I'd choose the hypersilver.

Let us know what you decide, and post up pics once you get them.

    Re: Help Me Decide

It's funny that Mof hates these wheels that much. I can only imagine if he actually saw a set and really saw how cheap they were, he would have a field day.

To take off an OEM wheel and replace it with a VMR is kinda like a downgrade.

To the OP, whatever you do, don't do the black onyx. If fact, you should just get yourself into a set of used LM's.

    I've seen 3 sets of VMR's.
Lets just say they didn't fair well through the last Chicago winter.

if you pick the right replica manufacturer...the wheels are you buy are coming from the same foundry as your OEM wheels...

Yea, it's like bicycle manufacturers. However, even though a $5,000 bike frame and an $800 bike frame might be made by the same factory, they are not equal. That's why reps are less expensive.
