finally got it on the dyno, unfortunately i couldnt get 30 lbs so the the first run was at 22 and the rest were between 22 and 26, the one line that stops was somewhere around psi on my gauge could be 35-40lbs do not know...however the graph did seem pretty nice

here you go mind you this was on a 100 plus day:

Re: finally got it on the dyno....

Hey man looks good. I was the one asking you a few questions when you were on the dyno... I got my 50 trim going in soon...

So was that on pump gas? and this

"the one line that stops was somewhere around psi on my gauge could be 35-40lbs do not know"

what does that mean? 35-40lbs of what? I thought you said the boost was between 22-26psi

Re: finally got it on the dyno....

were you running race gas? I'm surprised you bumped up the boost that high on stock compression. At that point you are probably sacrificing a lot of timing to keep the motor happy.

Another note, its a bit strange that the HP and Torque don't seem to intersect at all even after you correctly scale the graphs. They usually cross at 5250 rpm.

i was on 116 sunoco race gas....i will drive it at 25lbs on pump all day long...the one run that the guy let off is not on the plot and that run the boost skyrocketed to where it says psi in my guage...

This is something I never understood.

    ---

I watched your car get dyno'ed. Pretty damn decent numbers. I tried videotaping one of your runs, but I ran out of room on the memory card.

Bumping it up from 22 to 26psi made the world of a difference from the spectator's point of view. That thing sounded f-in amazing on 26psi.

Re: finally got it on the dyno....

because dynos measure torque...and horsepower is a function of torque. Horsepower is calculated off torque....so if you have a torque curve, you also have a horsepower curve.

    Horspower = (Torque(ft lbs) X RPM) / 5250

My plots from Sunday don't cross up at 5250 at all or anywhere near for that matter. That dyno was 1) beyond off and 2) the heat and humidity were brutal.

I've seen the calculation before, I just never messed with it to see why. I get it now.

    (300ft lbs @ 5250rpm)/5250 = 300HP
The 5250's cancel and the numbers match.

yup thats why the numbers are supposed to cross at 5250. buut say you make 300tq at 7000 rpm, then technically you should make 400hp at 7000rpm. (300x7000)/5250=400hp

Re: finally got it on the dyno....

It doesn't cross at 5250 because the hp and tq scales are not equal. The hp is scaled for a max 400 reading and the tq is scaled for a max 350 reading. If they were both scaled for 400 the 2 lines would cross at 5250.

    Nice.

I was just doing the math and tinkering around,... in order to make as much power as you did, you would have to make 200% volumetric efficiency. Or more.

At 26 psi that turbo is working pretty damn hard. I looked and sounded great though.
