Removing Shift knob on manual

hey,
How do you take the shift knob off? I thought it was twist off but it doesnt seem to come off and i dont wanna to apply to much force,

there is an oetiker clamp at the bottom. You have to pry it off, and replace with a worm gear clamp or another oetiker.
