    Just installed my Type-r Components, sound like ass

    I did the install well like usual, but the component subs on the rear deck sound horrible i dont know what it is? Its as if they almost need boxes built around them?
    any help? T.I.A.

    did you just put them in and hook them to the stock stereo? big no no if you have bose.

    Most subs are made to be in enclosures. Look in the manual to see what they recommend.

    Hey are you on any car audio forums, cause I thought I remembered your same screenname on one of the ones I used to frequent? If so, I assume you know what's up and hooked them up right.

    It's always good to separate the back wave from the front, for example when people run IB subwoofers in the rear deck they make sure the rear deck and trunk area are sealed as good as possible. When you say component subs you mean the component midrange woofer, right (or do you have actual subs in your rear deck)? People run kick pods with the mid in an enclosure, so it definitely doesn't hurt. Just make sure you find out what the right volume for it should be. I'd ask on a car audio forum or call Alipine if I were you. Good luck.
