PLEASE HELP!!! My Symphony II won't budge..

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have the removal keys inserted and a couple of them keep popping out when I pull, but even when I have all four of them in place, the thing doesnt move. Does anyone have any ideas? Can I get at it from the sides of the footwells? How do those panels come off? Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

I had the same problem last night (pulled mine to replace with an RNS-E!).
I removed the woodgrain trim surrounding the hazard switch (used a heavy paper clip and bent it a quarter inch to make a hook, tuck behind the woodgrain and pull straight out). With the hazard trim removed you can CAREFULLY pry on the metal case of the Symphony unit (be carefull not to pry on the edge of the plastic face plate) and you should be able to wiggle it out.

You are sure they are pressed in all the way until they click? I usually press the end of it towards the outside as I pull so the part inside by the radio is pushing the lock in all the way. This really shouldn't require anything special. The way the radio is held in is ridiculously simple technology.

Ok, thanks for the suggestions but this S.O.B. aint coming out. I'm even possibly sacrificing the cassete player and using small hook trying to pull it out. I'm thinking the tabs are screwed up. if I take off the side panels of the center console, can I get to the sides of the radio? How do you take off the side panels? Thanks!
