    help!!!!

So I was heading to a wedding yesterday and stopped by the store to grab a hallmark card. I went outside to the parking lot and started up the car and it seemed to idle really rough. I started driving it and the CEL came on and the car was driving very sluggishly. It wouldn't let me rev beyond 2500-3k rpm without seeming like it was choking out. I pulled aside and the car was idling very rough, around 2kish rpm.

Based on the symptoms, what do you guys think it could be? I'm thinking it is the coil pack but I just need confirmation.

    Thanks for the help, fellas.

    2004 1.8t tip with about 77k miles.

Will the OBD II scanner indicate which one is the failed cp?

    Re: help!!!!

i take it you meant autozone? lol anyways they should have, but ask a few guys from around here what they suggest, im not sure of the quality of the autozone/ advance auto, or what ever parts store you have would be, i mean you can always get a price from the stealership, and i would say if its less that 35 dollars then it wouldnt hurt to just get them from there... if you have the money i would suggest that you get al four brand new and replace them all, and if you have the extra time to wait then you should check out ecstuning.com for a set of 4 coil packs bremi i do believe they are around 120 dollars for all four... good luck man!!

    Re: help!!!!

Sounds like coil packs for sure. Not sure if Autozone or those type of places carry them but like stated above get 4 of the revised coils and replace all 4. Its a good idea to have some spares in the trunk at all times incase this happens again on the road. I bought mine at ECS as well but considering you need them now go to the dealer.

    Re: help!!!!

Is your CEL flashing? If so then it's definitely a coil pack issue. Like others have said, replace all 4 cause the others are likely to follow suit.
