    Hey all...

A simple question will passat coilovers from a b5/b5.5 fit my a4 b5?

They look really similar to my current shocks...

ive tried searching this forum and googling everything i can think of...

    Any help would be great...

I might think if your car is FWD it will work.

    Re: Passat Coilovers

make sure you have the same engines. passats are lighter than audis so the spring rate may not be stiff enough. it should bolt on fine though

Not sure, they are not new - coming from a guy not to far away from me so thought i would make the upgrade to get rid of that ugly gap between my front fender and tire

they're coilovers..so it doesn't really matter if the spring rates are a lil off, you can just adjust the height

You've got things the wrong way round.

The Passat B5 / B5.5 is a lot heavier than an A4, it's almost as heavier as an A6.

The springs will raise an A4, unless they're adjustable, I haven't read that far.

    Spring rates are higher.

Yes, they may be adjustable, but they'll be very stiff on the lighter A4, will make the car very skittish over uneven surfaces.

Therefore giving me poorer handling than my lowering springs and shortened shocks?

Yes. But most 4 motion Passats had 2.8's with Auto's. 1.8T 5speed 4 Motion Passats are very rare. One year only I think.
