    Re: Question on gas

    Alright guys, get this!

I did a little experiment when I took my last road trip. The trip was entirely interstate, going 65mph ONLY! By the end of my tank, I traveled 498 miles!!!! CRAZY!! That's sweet if you ask me.

Normally, in town (Spokane isn't a major metropolis or anything, pretty big though), my car easily pushes 350-380 on a tank. It does very well!

So yeah, a tank can get 400...LOL! Actually, it can get 500!!! That makes me laugh

    Re: Question on gas

the DIS is very incorrect, especially if you do any performance mods (besides exhaust/intake, basic stuff). i always calculate it outright

    Re: Question on gas

My B6 is bone stock and I get 430 miles on a tank driving around Orlando. I have gotten 500 miles on a tank traveling on the highways during a long trip, so it's possible.

    Re: Question on gas

Well it was "normal" tonight, I really don't know why it was bugging out earlier, maybe the dealership used cheap gas and whatnot. I used Premium with Lucas gas treatment and getting great mileage!

What the hell do you guys use for 12v power for a radar detector or something?? the one 12v in the middle behind the shifter makes the cable look so tacky!

Look to see if they put a new battery in before you bought it. Alot of times that'll mess with the fuel gauge for a day or two.

    Re: Question on gas

The computer bases its estimate off your last 18 miles (or is it km?) of driving, and extrapolates it for the remainder of your tank.

And DIS stands for Driver Information Screen, IIRC. <-- and ^^ are in the owner's manual.

When I was doing strictly Interstate driving last summer it'd say I had over 900 km to empty but the best I got was an 850 km tank and one at 800 km.

In the city I often get about 300-350 km per tank.
