If you have sports suspension, you would need race springs to go lower. Aftermarket sport springs such as the ones in the link will yeild you same to similar height to the stock sport height. If anything, the ride quality would improve.
If you do decide to go with the race springs with the stock sport struts, the ride quality I read (damper) will be terrible. Yet it is still do-able. Another thing to consider when using race springs on sport stock struts instead of sport springs is that it will wear your struts quicker. That is why many upgrade to Bilstein shocks when doing that. And there are stories of people having thier sport struts sh*t the bed on them after a couple months, while others can go years without problems and still truck it. I guess it would have to do with the way the individual drives.
I myself am still on stock sports suspension. I will only upgrade to coilovers (Koni more than likely). I really don't see the neccesity of them at the moment. The sport stockers do me just fine and I have a Nuespeed Rear Sway Bar. I am on 16" swings (just bought new tires couple months ago, so they will be on there for at least 30k+ more miles), but if I had 18" wheels I would def upgrade the suspension.
