Good Lord, that's a new car? Why is your license plate already dented and you have 5,234,682 bugs splattered across your bumper? Drive through a rainforest already?

Considering it's just a Ford Explorer with some fancy trim here and there, it should actually be a fairly decent little rig. I don't mean that as an insult, it's just what it is. Definitely not a real off-road machine though.

You should just staple a sign to your forehead that reads, "I'm not very bright". Where do people come up with this kind of nonsense? If i were in need of a gas swilling go ANYWHERE vehicle, I would buy one in a second. You could count on 3 fingers, more capable off-road vehicles. Good luck with the new ride.

I guess you must be right. Considering I'm someone who has had to repair them rigs in the past, having had both the Rovers and the Fords side by side on hoists, I couldn't possibly know what I'm talking about. Not to mention my colleagues in the industry.

Considering the suspension and ground clearances, the thing will be great in snow and logging roads and a great everyday driver if need be. There's nothing wrong with the fact that the LR3 and the Explorer are based on the same basic platform. Just like the full size Range Rovers and the Expeditions of equivilant vintages. They're both very good platforms.

Though, I always like how people resort to childish name calling when they come across something they don't agree with or don't understand. Very Classy

    Re: My New Vehix

Motortrend named it SUV of the year in 2005. They had a lot of good things to say about it. All those hating, calling it a fancy Ford Explorer, couldn't be more inaccurate. Oh, and in the long term test the only issue was a AC switch/sensor. For $14k and low miles I say it's a hell of a deal.

*I'm not a Rover fan, I just dislike people bandwagoning 'hate' when they have zero idea what they're talking about.

    Re: My New Vehix

I like it. For 14k I love it. Is it so cheap ( cost) because gas is nuts right now or would that be the usual price? ( I have absolutely no clue). What kind of gas mileage do you get with it? My neighbor has a white one that's clean as hell. I don't think it's been off tarmac even once, lol. It looks fantastic though.

Keep the sign, and ask your "colleagues in the industry" about the T5 and the U. Or perhaps if you look closely next time you hoist one up. Where do you get this stuff Wikipedia? Its not a real encyclopedia, just an FYI. Sorry for the threadjack, enjoy the truck! Land Rover does off-road driving events, and the few I've gone to could be pretty intense if you want them to be. You use your own car. so people tend to not deal with some of the heavy stuff. It will give you a whole new respect for what your new rig can do. Or just drive off into the woods somewhere (winch advisable).
