    Few Pics Many Questions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I was suppose to post these pics up last week when I thought I would have the car but some complications came up. Well I got the car now, paid about $10,000 and loving it. Here are some pics (hope this comes out right)

Now for a few questions... When I start up the car is says OK at the top and Service right under it but then it goes away... is that normal? or do i need to service the car? Someone told me that I can adjust the ride height with the push of some buttons near the bottom side of the driver seat.. any truth to that? I think im getting the MOD BUG!! I want to tint it up and also get some LED taillights and Xenon projector headlights... any reccommendations? Thanks in advance

Also MODS if the pics are too big can you resize them? or let me know and i will do it

True..but he needs to be more clear then.

-As for the service showing up. Theres a procedure to get rid of that that involves pressing certain buttons. Just search it and im sure you'll find out but other than that its no biggie.

it's a simple miles counter that can be reset... it does not indicate any problems or specific services that need to be done. Look under your steering wheel for the A4 manual and look up the procedure for resetting the service light.

mine did that too. You can turn it off yourself you just need to look it up on DIY. If you are worried that there is something wrong take it into the dealer.

Start here for aftermarket items like tails. Just start hunting and you will find what you want.

that sounds like a nice price.

You guys notice all the new members popping up with b6s in NY? They must have had a mass auction full of Audis on the east coast.

    Re: Few Pics Many Questions

Definitely a good price. If you're looking for LED tails, I'd PM a guy A4 Moda. Bought mine off of him and everything was great. He's slow to respond to PMs but I'm sure he'll give you his e-mail which he answers pretty quickly. The price on them is pretty high, but if you don't feel like soldering resistors yourself then it's the way to go.

Oh, and if you buy them off of him, before you try to install them peel off the foam strip from the back. It makes them fit like crap, but without it they're mad nice. Congrats on the new car.

    Re: Few Pics Many Questions

And yes, the SERVICE does mean something. It is typically set for the oil change intervals. If you plan on ever selling the car, I recommend looking in your manual and reading how there is required service every 5,000 miles, and when the service light comes on, get it serviced, get your book stamped, and resell for highest value down the road.

Your car loses quite a bit of value if you don't get your book stamped every 5k.

    Re: Few Pics Many Questions

But then again, some people have their own service schedule, and never really use the service reminders.

Here is how you reset the service reminder:

    1. Turn car off, leave key in,
    2. Hold the 'WRENCH' button in the cluster,
    3. Turn key to the 'ON' position,
    4. Let go of the 'WRENCH' button, and quickly press the '0' button.

That will reset the service reminder to the standard interval of 5k.

it is a broad range for the Timing belt servicing, anywhere from $600-2000 including parts. You could also see if anyone on the regional boards is will ing to give you a hand and DIY.
