Jeremy - rear brake upgrade ?

I am looking at two options and would appreciate your opinion. This is for my 2004 A4. Car is used as daily driver and a couple HDPE's a year.

Option 1 is doing the larger StaSIS rear brake rotors and keeping the OEM caliper (cheaper & lighter)

Option 2 is doing the B6 S4 rear calipers and vented rotors.

My 2 concerns with the option 2 is i don't know how much different the calipers are and i am not sure of the A4 master cylinder is up to the job. also the b6 S4 rotors are heavier than the STaSIS upgraded rotor kit.

Any info or guidence is appreciated.

Sorry for the delay....what are your reservations with just going with a fantastic kit as option1? That's what we have on our B7 A4 2.0TQM USP Avant and what we had on our B6 A4 1.8TQM USP Avant and love it.
I see no reason to go with anything but it.

    LMK how we can help!

Re: Jeremy - rear brake upgrade ?

i was thinking option two since it is a vented rotor. Maybe keep the brake temps down? But i am sure option 1 is more than enough. I just want to do it right the first time.

I will need new rear rotors here in oct/nov after the last HDPE. I wan't to get the max life out of these rotors. So i will just wait for the next STaSIS Sale and pick a setup at that point.

thanks for you input and help

I'm not sure how much of a reduction in brake temps you'll see with a rear vented rotor vs non-vented honestly.

    Anytime!

I wasn't sure either. Sounds like i should just keep it simple and just to the StaSIS kit.
