About tiptronic

What I understand so far is that only quattro will have tiptronic on it. Mine is not quattro. However, my invoice said that my car has tiptronic. And most importantly, what's the difference between tiptronic and multitronic? How can I tell whether my car has it or not? Thanks.

from the offical website....2.0T is multitronic....2.0TQ is tiptronic....I am just curious....

isn't multitronic coupled with the cvt? if so, then multitronic is probably the program/software that allows you to shift "manually" on a cvt transmission.

No.
Tiptronic was added in 1998 so if you own a '96 or '97 then you have a plain 5 speed automatic trans.
