    Stern Snub Mount

Love it. Install was cakealicious. It slid right on the shaft with no lubrication, all natural baby. Took me at the very most 45 minutes to install.

No vibration at idle anymore, smooth crisp shifts, and another mod to add to the list.

    Thanks PureMS.

Did you do it while you had the front of the car apart anyways (i.e. timing belt etc) or no? If not, did you pull front of car or use the method that involves removing the actual snub bracket from the engine?

I am also interested if the mount can be replaced without taking off the front end.. All of mines are worn out..

    Yes you can.

You'll probably need some type of lube, and a pry bar.

Just take the front off. It's so easy. Take your bumper off and you are 9 bolts away from getting the snub off.

Don't be intimidated, a blind person with no thumbs could do this install.

    Re: Stern Snub Mount

was the vibration caused by stiffer motor/tranny mounts?

i installed stiffer tranny/motor mounts, i love them, but the vibration at idle is slightly there and but gets annoying with the A/C on. I'm going to play around with them tomorrow to see if i can get them to settle a bit more and if that helps with the vibration.

i have a snub mount to install.. might do that tomorrow too. i thought it would make the vibration worse, which is why i haven't bothered to install yet.

You inspired me, I have been meaning to do this for a long time. Can't beat $30 either. I haven't had time to test it out but it idles smoother.

You have to be kidding me Audi, I can squeeze this thing together with one hand! Two compleatly different products.
