When I push on the gas pedal it feels like it is pulling to accelerate almost. Any idea's of what this could be?

^^yes! another girl lol! turbo lag it is see the turbo needs to build boost(air) before the turbo can provide power and when it builds enough around 3800 RPM's u feel it start to pull!

that's because you drive a 3300lb car that has 170hp.

boost in the k03s starts around 2000 and dies after 5500. i would say peak boost is probably around 2500-2800, but i could be wrong.

3800rpm's if your BT. I can make 10psi out of my K03 way before then.

With the APr Stage 1 Flash, the boost did feel it it came in sooner...does it change that as well? Agreed on the 3300Lbs and 170 bhp and 166 ls of torque.

a chip cannot change the size of the turbo, so no, but it would make it more noticable

that's not turbo lag - that's power lag.... and until you go BT, that lag will NEVER go away.

If it feels slower than before, maybe u have a boost leak, get a boost gauge installed and chip the car, u will be golden.

It does feel slower. Lately it has been running wierd. As for the chip, I have been looking into it but it would void my warranty.

    Re: turbo lag?

Slower could be due to the heat. Just put in a boost gauge, its probably the best mod to keep your car in line. In terms of chipping? Some dealers are better then others, but the same old line applies. "gotta pay to play"

It could be heat soaking, like vinny.dtw said, the stock intercooler is tiny. Did you buy the car used? I wonder if the car was already chipped and you set it back to stock mode.

    ^thank you...

that's my argument against 87 for ANY car.
unless you have a straight up beater that you really dont care about... i always put 93 in EVERYTHING. it's a whole 5 bucks extra on a full 15 gallon tank... whoopty freakin do.

and with all the ethanol getting mixed in i want the best i can get.

what is the point in 10% ethanol in the gas...have I missed something? It can't lower gas prices that much?

Well that is a fine arguement but here in CO 91 is considered premium and its almost impossible to find 93....

That's hilarious, if 93 was even available in my area, I will pay $5.00+ per gallon for it. I filled up with California reformulated crap gas at 91 octane the other day and it cost me $4.69 a gallon at shell. In California, that's considered pretty mild ask the San Francisco folks what they are paying!

Worse, Ethanol, which replaced MTBE (which was found to pollute and endanger ground water), is now in the process of getting abandoned as well. The problem is that not only is not the panacea people were looking for to solve the gas prices, but it is also bad for the environment and making food prices skyrocket thanks to the farmers making corn for fuels for out cars instead of fuel for us, so there was a shortage, driving corn prices to be stupid high and lessened the availability. I don't blame the agi's or farmers though, if someone offered my an exponential leap in profit margin by selling to Shell instead of Safeway, guess what I'm doing. Also this is a win-win, because it caused a shortage, people will pay top dollar for any reminding inventory that the oil companies did not buy. Not to mention the rise in demand for a short supply..."break yoself foo!"

and it doesnt.... its just like if you were selling lemonade, and you used LESS lemonade mix (which costs money) and more water (which costs almost nothing)... more profit.

you might drop prices 5 cents a cup, but you'd be saving more like 15 cents, so 10cents MORE profit on top of what you're already making... the world sucks doesnt it?

the same argument applies to you, just substitute 91 for anytime i said 93... its still a 20 cent difference isnt it?

    x.xx - regular
    x.xx+.1 = midgrade
    x.xx+.2 = premium

    Re: turbo lag?

where do you see 20 cents more from 87 to 93 its more like 30 to 40 cents now.

15%+ ethanol (or similar) will be in effect worldwide in no time.

I understand the whole food price increase sucks but what was the point of subsidizing farmers?

seriously though i find it hilarious that (modded) german car owners really give a rats ass about mpg. its a fun car. drive it like you stole it. if you can't afford the gas; get a hyundai they can make 95% of the same power on 87 octane (compared to premium). and the drive and feel like hyundai's. even the genesis.

worst case you might have to eat a lean cuisine instead of going out to lunch once a month to give your car love.

it always amused me when maxima/altima owners would do the "premium" maintenance package including 3K oil changes then rock out their 3.5 litre on 87 because it saved money. could never win that argument with them.

    Re: turbo lag?

Well. Obviously something was wrong. My car broke down tonight at first I would press in the pedal and it wouldnt even accelerate. Once I pulled over my car was making a very bad clicking sound in the engine and the muffler sounded terrible soon enough my car wouldnt even start. Its on its way to the dealership now and hopefully I will know whats wrong tomorrow.
