The center display on my '01 A4 has gone out, any thoughts?

Yeah, search for "dead pixels." That will give all of your answers... Basiclly, I will tell you, you will find the only fix is a new cluster ($825 ish.)

I think the best way and the only way is to get a new one. This happened to me, too. What I did is get a used one with good quality from ebay. Spending $86 + shipping on it.

Unless you just accidentally turned it off. Switch on the bottom side of the wiper stalk.

+1...from what I've seen..these pixels just don't die all of a sudden. They die really slowly. So you may have accidently turned it off.

Mine seems to be a POS as well (did not accidentally turn it off). It is weird though. during the day you cant hardly see anything. Not even the P N R D ect. But first thing in the morning sometimes you can turn the display on and it is almost like new except for a couple missing lines. Wish i new how to fix the dumb thing with out buying a brand new one.
