I finally received the missing pieces for my Yakima bike rack that I destroyed a few months back. I understand the mixed emotions about the bike rack look.

I've been on the fence about putting bike racks on my car, but after seeing your pics it looks like I have something else to put in the "future mods list"

I should have made a video of my attempts in jamming my bike into my car. It drove me crazy, so I had to suck it up and buy the rack system.

thanks for the positive comments. I was hesitant for a bit since I just painted my roof.

    Sexy Hotness!!

Have you ever driven without the Fairing??
I have the same rack on my car, but no fairing, and it makes a whistling sound.
Btw, what size is that fairing?? Might get it even if it doesn't help with noise as it looks badass!

Re: Yakima bike rack installed "again" -pics

The wheels are CSL reps from Hartmann, which they discontinued for Audi. I believe VMR makes CSL reps, but have not seen them around on too many Audis.

As for the wind fairing, I never drove without it. I still have a slight whistle sound at highway speeds. Its noticeable with the bikes (of course). I just turn the radio louder to drown out the noise. Not sure about the size. If you are concerned about the noise there is a shark shape fin that you can add that is suppose to decrease noise. You could also add it along with the fairing.

Thank you about the bikes. They are my second love to the audi, except they hurt my wallet and my body at the same time. Still recovering from a bad fall when I couldn’t clip out in time.

I'm planning to put a thule ski/snowboard rack on mine too. Was wondering how it would look. Not too shabby.

I love the CSL wheels. I just got a set of 19's for my gf on her E46.

Re: Yakima bike rack installed "again" -pics

This is what I have plus some extra locks. Its a good idea to lock the fairing and the Viper. http://www.rackattack.com/yakima-fit-guide/step4.asp
    I hope this helps out.
Yakima Viper (2) - you could go with the cheaper copper head, but its up to your budget.
    Code : 202000

44" Fairing - Not too important, but looks cool and helps with wind resistance..
    Part # 8007048

    Q Towers (2)
    Part # 8000124

    48'' cross bars
    Part # 8000408

SKS Lock Core Pack (6) - you might want to order a couple more, just in case
    Part # 8007206
