no codes but stil abs light ?? | crap

i bougt me a abs ecu/module that was rebuilt. We put it in. I can vag it. cleared all codes on engine and abs and there are no codes now.. but the abs light remains on.. any idea how to fix this? i can log the abs .. lke i said no codes in vag and the abs light stays on.. any idea's ?

ok i thought id did throw a code but it didnt.. i took it out for a spin.. brake extremly hard and abs seems to kick in. but light is still on.. engine shows no fault codes and abs module login shows no fault codes...but abs light is still on.. anyone ever had this ?

set coding? ehh ? yes is correct module. i can communicate with the module.. both engine and module show no fsault codes.. how do you set coding? and yes brake light is solid and is flashing as well when i release the hand brake

I had the same problem when I bought my car. I just brought it to my mechanics and change the "control module" that kind of stuff. Everything fixed for $800.

My abs light was on, The abs worked perfect, so i hooked VAG-Com and scanned the ABS mod, and turned out i had a bad rear driver's side speed sensor, the wire was cut, so i just spliced and solider them back together and the light went off. woo hoo.

So you might want to check your speed sensors, for the ABS system.

My buddy had one of the ABS sensors fall out and caused his light. Particularly weird cause those sensors are usually seized in place. I would check all the sensors as mentioned above

VAG Instrument cluster, it could be a communication issue..

Just because it's supposed to be rebuilt does not mean its a good one,when my brake light started flashing and my ABS light came on I checked into it, Between the years of 1996 and 2001 Audi and VW produced thousands of cars with defective control units, VW had somewhat of a Recall but not Audi, The dealer was talking about 2000.00, I decided to open it up,and I found a very poorly Soldered connection, I do not claim to be an expert but I bet this is the problem on most of these units, I resoldered the connection and flashing brake light and beeping sound was gone and used VAG to reset ABS light and its fine now,

it is a very difficult area to resolder as it has on each side gold wires that are smaller then the diameter of a human hair,one slip with the soldering gun and its all over,if you are not getting a fault code with the ABS light being on, it may be a bad repair job,

I tried doing that, solder was too thick and I fucked it up gooood.
