How do you disconnect this part?

I have an 01.5 S4 and ever time I go to work on my engine back where the maf and Y pipe are, I go to disconnect the plastic connector piece and on the bottom of that It has a small plastic pipe that connects to the brake booster (I think thats what it connects to I could have that totally wrong)

Anyway I cant seem to get it to disconnect and I dont want to yank on it and break it. The part is in the box in the picture below

Also I think the earlier model S4's dont have this connection on the bottom of their plastic connector piece between Y pipe and MAF I cant think of what this piece is called either. It will come to me someday.

Jerbel, this is where you reply and give a nice detailed answer how to disconnect it and correct name of parts I am describing. You are king

LOL, that's the brake booster one-way vacuum valve. It is attached to the accordion hose. I just push from inside the accordion and gently pry it out from the outside using a flathead. Maybe spray some WD40 in there to lube it up if you're having issues getting it out.

    Excellent

Jordan you are always reliable. I did start to use a flat head screw driver and was prying away, but I know that when ever I start to use a little force something always breaks, so I decided to hold back and get some advice.

If and when I need to disconnect the accordian hose again I will try using my thumb on inside like you said and some WD40

    Thanks again.

just pull on it until it comes off, scott.. persistance will pay off. make sure you put some spit to lube it up before shoving it back in, otherwise it can be a pain.

just pull from the base of the hose where the nipple (i guess thats what it's called) goes into the acc. hose. it'll come. don't pull from the hose itself. that'd be kind of like pulling on a power cord from the cord like you're playing tug of war. the damn hose will get f'd up if you do it wrong. but that's probably fixable with duct tape and zip ties like everything else on hte car
