how to Pressure test wastegate lines

I'm still pondering my boost issue. I pressure tested it and found 2 big leaks in the intercooler piping, after i took a test drive and the car pulled pretty good but only went to 15 psi up until 3rd gear and then spiked to 17psi. Since then i couldn't keep my foot off the gas and i now have a leak somewhere else. I pressure tested it again and didn't find anything, now the car won't boost pass 13 and the turbo's get noticable loud. how do i go about testing wastgate lines and other lines that could cause a boost leak?

Pull the hose off of the driver's side of the N75 and blow into it with your mouth. It should hold pressure.

couldnt you vacuum test these lines? itll tell you if theyres a leak either way

go rent a vac tester from autozone.. take off the line.. put the line on the vac tester and pump away.. then watch the gauge.

I have to tell you that mine is on the passenger side on top rear of intake for sure. I don't know if Canadian cars could be that much different tho.

I'm not saying that the N75 is on the driver's side, I'm saying to take off the wastegate hose on the driver's side OF of the N75 and pressure test it.
The N75 is exactly where you described.

OK, i'm at work but i found some time to work on it a bit. I did what you said and blew into the wastegate side of the N75 and it felt like air wasn't going into it/or just a bit of air would. So i'm guessing that's what i want? I also put my manual boost controller back in. i have it hooked up by itself and not in parallel and capped off the N75. maybe i have a bad N75? i started the car up and drove around front and upon starting it up vaccum was @ 20hg and by the time i got to the front to park it i let it idle and it's @ 16-17hg is this Ok or is there maybe still a leak. also i opened the upon parking the car and i saw smoke coming from what i think is the drivers side exhaust manifold, just below the coolant tank. it smelt like oil. maybe not a good thing.

Yeah, that's what you want, to be able to blow into it just a little bit and then for air NOT to pass through the hose.

Try pressure testing the car again.

I always here test to 15psi which is what i did. You could see the pressure tester inflating looking like it's ready to pop off(i was assuming seeing this and not hearing any leaks i was goo). So would it be smart to test a little higher psi?

after pressure testing several times and not HEARING any leaks, i don't trust my ears anymore. Using a spray bottle with soapy water was the only way i found a leak on the valve of my brake booster hose. it was inaudible, but the soapy water made nice big bubbles when i sprayed it on that leak.

I'll check that , isn't it the bigger hose that is connected to the intake manifold on the back going into the firewall?

Thankyou, that was very detailed. I also have CEL so we'll see what that's about, hopefully i can put an end to all this.

finally got a chance to VAG the car on the way home from work.

got the p1454 code EGT bank 1, i'm sure that's contributing to the boost problems. but bank 1 is the passenger side right? i just changed that sensor like 15,000 miles ago. also there's a code for the 2 rear o2's but those shouldn't be affecting me.

Pressure tested the other day but found I couldn't build any pressure at all through the y intake opening. ZERO! Needle wasnt moving whatsoever. Have one of these boost leak testers from turboboostleaktesters :
    http://www.turboboostleaktesters.com...dsh-Kit/Detail
So, I thought Id test the boostleak tester gauge with a bit of volume behind it, so fitted it to a 3 m pipe capped off at the end. The pressure built up nicely on the gauge.

So, am I having such a huge hole somewhere that its impossible to build pressure in the system?
Im now contemplating building a smoke tester to tie in with the pressure test/air compressor.

Funny thing is, I've looked hi and low on the internet and nowhere can I find anything on this problem. Everyone just assumes you can build pressure : "Just pressure test your system and you will find all your boost leaks". --Sure, if you can build pressure to begin with.
    Hmmm...

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance
