Ok well i recently got my a/c fixed so the front had to be removed for that. After i moved and drove down from the bay area to san diego. I noticed once i got down here the corners of my bumper were popped out of position. So i tried to pop them back in and they went in and i figured they wouldnt come back off but they did as soon as i got on the freeway. They pop right back out. Even when they feel like i got them in snug. Im getting kinda scared and thinking there is something broken in there but need some advice from you guys.

so here are some pictures of what my bumper looks like and what its doing. BTW the bumper feels like its on good but just these corners are kinda loose on there. There is probably a secret in doing this but i dont no it.

mine used to do this. found out I was not pushing hard enough to snap them and and was only snapping in the bottom. You need to push to get all corner snapped in. PUSH. if not they are broken from to much push.

Re: help me fix my bumper.

hopefully this makes atleast some sense.

You want to put some force into where you push up and in on the bottom tab (your knee works great) while holding the top tab in place.

Re: help me fix my bumper.

Next time I get my bumper off i'm gonna do a write up. Its easy when you get it.

But quick and dirty, get some masking tape and put about 2 layers where the fender meets the bumper. Then lift and push the bumper into the bracket. Then push down while you keep force on the top part of the bumper. The masking tape will help prevent scratches. Then Keep pushing down till the top of the bumper clears the bottom of the fender. Then with an open hand push the bumper forcefully into the clip. You'll know when you get it. You might need to keep your free hand pushing the bumper inwards or use your shin/knee to keep pressure on while you slap the top part in.

mine does this on the passenger side (wife got it stuck on parking curb...) anyway you have to really push hard to get it to snap into place.

Re: help me fix my bumper.

I just posted the same question a couple weeks ago. I was sweating my ass off struggling with mine and got really frustrated. I finally Got it using ALOT of force. Lift up and in really hard to hook the bottom then push down and in really hard on top all the while pushing in from the front of the bumper.

Re: help me fix my bumper.

haha I was having this problem ever since I had my car worked on a month ago. I went through the whole being fustrated and wondering if something was broken because no matter how many times pushed/kneed/smacked/kicked my bumper, it would lock into the clips for like 10 seconds, then as I was walking away it would pop out. (it was just on the passenger side too.

Anyways, bottom line, I got super pissed and drilled a 4 inch screw into the bumper skirting and through the fender well. Took me 4 holes till it finally grabbed and held, and it looks pretty tacky, but it hasn;t popped out since!

I'm planning on getting a new bumper when I get my car painted anyways though.

Normally when this happens, its best to unscrew the two Allen bolts, then pop the sides into place first.

Re: help me fix my bumper.

I had the same problem. Would end up looking like shit. Ended up stealth drilling a hole on each side (where it isn't visible) and zip tieing the bumper to the wheel well lining. Hasn't came off in months, and isn't even noticable.

Re: help me fix my bumper.

if u loosen the bolts in the center of the bumper it makes snapping the corners and keeping them in a lot easier. i used to work at audi. a tech saw me workin on my car and gave me advice and it is a ton easier
