It's a very easy job. You don't have to move the inlet piping. Just remove the 2 10mm bolts per coil and pull them out. You can do it in 30 minutes drinking a beer and taking your time.

c'mon Jordan.. i thought you were Wrenchmaster2000. I have no problem getting the two front 10mm bolts on the coils w/ my inlets.

driver side: move rubber hose along side to top of coil, squeeze in 1/4" socket 10mm.. it's a tight fit, but will work.

pass side: use 10mm ratcheting box end (hell you can use open too) and reach in from the front of the vehicle.

you have to play a little tetris to get the electrical connections off, and rotate the coils out...but it's pretty easy.

LOL, don't get me wrong, I've never had to remove the inlets or anything, but it's easier to get the cp's out if you just remove the 10mm bolts holding the inlets in place and move them over 1/2". I just use my cordless drill with a socket adapter and zip out the bolts that way. They take about 1/2 a second each using that method IME, it's quicker to move the inlets over half an inch and then use the drill than to screw around with positioning wrenches into small spaces to access the bolts...

yeah but then you don't have the satisfaction of doing the finger-dance to not drop the coilpack bolt as you ease it out of the crevice. haha.

Here's another walk through that's a bit more comprehensive in that it shows some of the beginning portions of the project. Note, this is for an Allroad and A6, so the coilpacks are attached differently. The other thing I would recommend is remove the airbox entirely and without taking it apart...it will give you more space and I think makes it easier to put back in with all fasteners in place.

I'm running the Bosch F5DP0R plug. They are 2 heat ranges cooler than stock but, they never misfire and never foul.

They are a side-fire plug with a very wide center electrode in comparison to plain jane Bosch Platinum plugs.

IMO you can't go wrong with Bosch platins side-fires.

I've got about 10K on mine now. Still misfire free.

Re: Replacing spark plugs and have a few questions???

Not necessarily. Sometimes fouled plugs can contribute to knock values and CF's.

I think its easier to leave the inlets in, driver side inlet no problem,

Pass side though for the bottom right youll have to use a skinny wrench

What would "normal" Knock values and CF's be for a stage 3? And what log blocks are they? Also...is there a website that is exclusive to our cars showing vag-com "normal" values for all log blocks so I can compare?

Also: should you replace the coil packs when doing this, if so with OEM?
