Thoughts on this car.....

Hey all, I'm thinking of getting another car for hobbying/part time driving. Check out this black B5; anyone have impressions/thoughts/cautions about it? thanks in advance....

apr chips are junk,you lose your cruise control.

new turbos at 22k miles?! um thats the lowest amount of miles ive seen where the turbos blow...beat on perhaps? not maintained properly?

13,500 isnt a bad price, although NADA says about $12,600 is clean retail.

you want an s4 as a hobby? id say get an m3 if you just want a hobby/weekend car. have a little more fun with the 2 door rwd sports car and leave the grocery getters for the weekdays

APR chips still let you use cruise controll, dont spread misinformation.

but ya turbos at 22k is sketchey, and its a modified car so chances are previous owners/drivers drove it hard. Its got a few miles but its a decent price IMO. I payed about $10,000 more for mine.

PS an M3 is always a great track bitch, but the s4 is immensely more comfortable and has more luxurys. Not to mention it may not have the same handling characteristics as an ///M3 but it will certainly be faster (unless you can find an e46 or e92 for 13k rofl)

M3's (atleast the E36's) cost just as much. I was looking to switching over. when you get into higher mileage you get into redoing the entire suspension. O would agree though 22k miles and the turbos went sounds like its been beat.

spreading what i know from experience. my apr chip wouldnt let me use cruise control,it acted as the switcher. plus not aggressive enough. but that was my software,dont know what else they make.

e36 m3,great cars,i wanna pick one up as a weekend car. my friends selling his turbo one,$18k for 450+whp in a e36 M. mmm i want.

Well definitely not interested in an M3, want the Audi. Ad says he's the second owner but the Carfax says the third. New diverters with the turbo, sounds like a blow? Are the 01's vastly different/better than the 2000 or just cosmetics?

01.5 has a different badge,has "better oil lines" to the turbos,no f hose,has the ESP button which is traction control,believe thats all.

00's have the f hose which tends to need replacement with a samco. has no ESP button, and different badge.

just be careful with the turbo replacement issue at 22k,thats strange.

and if it sounds like a blow off valve, thats usually not a good thing,aka boost leak or bad diverter. or he could have apr r1s which give off a small sound,or something similar. what kind of DVs are they? stock?

No idea if the turbos are 3's or 4 or what DVs are in there. In any case I would have one of our own shops do an inspection before hand for issues/excess wear.

You weren't setting your cruise speed correctly then. It takes one second to set the cruise control speed and five seconds to enter program mode for the ECU.

My turbos were replaced at 22k miles...There is no way to tell when stock K03's will go. People have blown them within a few thousand miles off the dealer lot. They go when they go.

you dont know if the turbos are k03s or k04s? theyre k03s, they would have black inlet pipes if they were k04s
