Hey guys - hope someone can shed some light on this... My mechanic is tyring to fix a leak in my AC system. He charged it with Nitrogen and found the leak, but more of an issue now is the fact that he can't find the service port to charge the system with refrigerant. The info he has tells him that it should be right beside the filter/evap unit, but it's not there. He's looked all over and can only find the high-port. Anyway, Audi is famous for making mid-model year changes on the production line, so I'm thinking it's got to be somewhere - I just don't want him pulling the entire car apart to look for it - thought I'd throw him a bone. My car is a '96 A4QM with the 12-valve 2.8L V-6 with the AFC engine code.
This issue is perfectly timed for the 30+ degree (90-ish F) weather we're having this week, not including the ridiculous humidity of the Great Lakes region! I need a second shower by the time I get to work - ridiculous! I've searched here and on the "other" Audi forum, but no luck... Thanks for reading.
