yeah there is a gain and a bunch are running them. Its even more gain if its tuned for it. I was in a stage 3 with the dumps and it was night and day. That wasnt even changing the program. Check out quick time performance. they make some nice ones.

found sum qtps for sale, but i also have str8 pipes for my stage 3..car runs a awe twin 1 and piggies with cats, still loud at idle, very loud when i step on it, but surprisingly quiet when just cruising...performance wise what would i see a differnece in if i ran my test pipes no cats all the way out or the cut offs?

They will help you spool up faster and will give you better throtle response and a few more HP though out you rpm range. And ATP makes the best ones. I know becuase I worked for them.

    Re: Downpipe cut offs?

That's all the exhaust i run. I got flanges wield up on it when i need to put the exhaust back on. I got them cut off be for the flex joints. There is no question as to when my turbo is spooling.

    Re: Downpipe cut offs?

Would a custom 3" with the afore mentioned dhm electric dumps be more practical price wise and labor wise than some OTS 3" and hacking them up for the dumps and also to connect to the cut back with a neck down after the dumps to connect to the 2.25" catback?

    Re: Downpipe cut offs?

I'll say, I have cutouts on my exhaust, the throttle response is better and the car loves revving out much better with open exhaust. However, I don't feel much of any gains through the powerband. I've logged in same conditions open exhaust and closed, same gas and road and see next to no gains. My thoughts are if you have a nice free flowing exhaust, like straight pipes for example, dumps won't yield huge gains right out.

When it comes to a run all out situation, ya I'll open up the dumps because you can hear and feel everything the car is doing and i find it easier to drive haha, plus sounds badass. I'm in Mass too.

What turbos, exhaust diameter size and cutout size and catback diameter do you have?
