    Re: spark plugs

i would think the car would run a bit better if you know what the hell you doing.... changing the plugs can be a pain in the A$$.... but at 67K i guess it's good to have a fresh pair... as for the APR chiped.. i wouldn't think you need to worry about that...

    Re: spark plugs

Replace with stock ones -- people seem to have issues with most aftermarket/performance plugs.

Is this a tough project to take on? Is it harder to do then lets say brakes?

    Re: spark plugs

It's fairly simple. I'd rather do it than brakes. It's cleaner, and less likely you'll have to remove a bolt that is froze up. You just need to remove the plastic covers, and the top of the airbox to get to them. You might need to loosen a few other things like the coolant tank. It took me a couple hours, but I took my time, and cleaned up the engine bay while I had some stuff out too.

Once you have access you'll just have to pull really hard to pop out the coil packs, and then change the plugs, just like you would on any car.

It's definitely easier than on a transversely mounted V6.

    Re: spark plugs

The stock NGK PFR6Q plugs are really ideal on our cars since we have good coil packs. Old Audis had lower output coils and you couldn't use platinum or fine tipped plugs without seeing misfires.

The PFR6Q is good for stock through Stage 2+.

For stage 3, I recommend the Bosch Platin F5DP0R plugs.

    Re: spark plugs

Yeah, I've heard that the Iridium plugs are very good with our coils.

    Re: spark plugs

20 minute here.. haha "bragging".. but i had a audi mechanic with me.. as for pulling out the coils.. try using a flat head screw driver and place it under the coil.. give it a little push, and it should come out easily.
