just finished installing a SSAC exhaust on my friends 01.5, and i have to admit,it was alot easier then i was expecting. didnt have too much of a problem, only problem was the clamps that came with the catback attaching the rear section didnt fit at all so we bought new ones.

not gonna lie, was kind of skeptical about the whole thing being only $450 shipped for a full exhaust, but i must say i would rock this exhaust if it came down to it.

    SSAC ftw.

ya how long did each part take (downpipes, then catback, together?) and how does it sound? I have heard clips on the internet but im still trying to gauge how it sounds. Is it loud, medium, quiet? thanx

Yeah man, I really like mine. Instead of clamps I had flex joints welded in, that fixed up everything. We only had to relocate maybe 1 hanger and it was on.

The sound is just louder than an AWE Twin2. I have a friend that has the Twin2 and noticed mine was a little louder. At first I thought they were the same. I couldn't be happier with mine and it doesn't bother the wife so that should say a lot.

    Re: ssac install

sounds crisp, not too loud, not too quiet. obviously still will get a bit louder once it breaks in. catback took about 2 hours and downpipes about 4 hours. lenghty process with rusted bolts from the awesome new england weathers.

quite impressed with it overall. i heard some people get ones that dont fit and some do,he was lucky and got one that fit right up,no modification, just a little struggle.

and mind you i did it with just jackstands in the garage. that was probably the worst part haha,my elbows and back are a little sore today

    Re: ssac install

I am very satisfied with this exhaust. I didn't want something loud and I'm not particularly fond of the backfiring exhausts. This one however, has a great tone.

As for the install, it was a bit of a pain but we got it in there. The tips are about 1mm off in my mind, they could be a little more perfect. All in all for the price, you simply can't beat it.
