    8lb Pomeranian .vs. 2000 B5 S4

Tonight was the SECOND time that I was toting my wife's dog to the grocery store (the dog loves car rides) only to walk out to the parking lot to find the S4 alarm honking and flashing!

OK - the question is - What the heck is this dog doing in there for the 20 minutes I'm picking up milk and eggs? I suspect that she's probably pushing/scratching at every switch and button in the car - but what would trigger the alarm? This is getting embarrassing. Right now, the dog is banned from future road trips.

The interior motion sensor might have tripped off. Mine does everytime I leave my windows open. It really annoys me actually. The slightest breeze trips the alarm!

Oh, and I've tried to push that button thing in the rear to turn off the sensor, but it still happens. Is there some indicator light or something to let us know when it's activated or not? My button doesn't even light up.

Press the button on the drivers B-pillar. That is supposed to temporarily disable the interior motion sensor.

    Re: 8lb Pomeranian .vs. 2000 B5 S4

    Yeah probably the interior sensor...

It REALLY helped me one night actually, was watching a movie in my living room and forgot I left the sunroof open. Starting POURING rain and triggered the alarm immediately. I saw the lights flashing from inside and I was able to close the sunroof up before things got too wet....

Sounds like you DON'T want this on though...

Saved my car from a burglary as I forgot I cracked the window.

To disable it, you have to have the driver door open, press the button on the bottom of the driver side b pillar, and the red lock light on the driver door will light up red for about 3 seconds to show you it's disabled. I usually disable it during the day with the windows cracked as the slightest gust sets it off.

Your title made me think I was going to see some carnage in this thread. I'm kinda disappointed.

    Re: 8lb Pomeranian .vs. 2000 B5 S4

side note, the sensitivity can be adjusted with vag-com.
    http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/audiB5.html

    45-Int. Monitor: -- KWP-1281
VAG-COM Works fine (note: This is tied in with 35-Central Locking so it may not work with pre-'97).

    Sensitivity Adjustment

    [Select]
    [45 - Int. Monitor]
    [Adaptation - 10]
    Enter channel 01
Enter a value between 50-100 (it should be 100 by default) for the sensitivity of the ultra-sound sensors
    [Save]

Mine was like that too until I Vagged the sensitivity down. Now I can leave the sunroof open without triggering the alarm. It still goes off if I reach through the open window to turn the radio on though.

Hahahaha I left my gf in the car when I ran into the store last year and locked the car, but didn't shut down the motion sensor. I came out and the cars lights were flashing and she had that crazed "i'm going to kill you" look in her eyes. It was great!

The dog should have been banned in the first place. I'd NEVER take a dog in my car.
