well, to turn this into a SEMI serious thread...

some of these things I did, and some I would like to do:

remove spare tire, jack, and tools
remove 6 disc changer (replaced w/ avic d3 and ipod hookup)
Fiber images CF trunk
Fiber images CF front fenders
Fiber images CF hood
wheels (aftermarket, volk? whatever's lightweight)
Lighter racing seats in front
Remove rear seats (little extreme)
CF mirrors?

I'm sure there's a bunch of other shit you can do without stripping the car to bare metal..

I removed everything in the trunk. Spare, Jack/tools, jack/ 6 disc changer holder (it's a pretty hefty piece of metal). Rear seats are completely gone and on my futon in my room. all the removeable plastic pieces in your trunk, top trunk line, the trunk carpeting/ side liners.
if you're really extreme, get a hairdryer/heat gun and putty knife and scrape off the tar sound deadening material. all of it in the trunk is probably 15 pounds.
next spring/summer when i return from school, I'll be purchasing new racing seats and taking the carpeting out, lightweight rims will follow suit.

then you can get hooked up w/ fiberglass or carbon fiber body panels. Take out the door cards, replace the windows with Lexan. take out the power window stuff.

you can be as extreme as you want to be...

Yeah putting it on a diet would be great. i might do some more weight saving.

I've done:
Carbonfiber hood
NO spare
Flik wheels/ they arent really light but there lighter than stock
My XS downpipes are lighter than stock

Next on the list:
Lighter rims
carbontrunk/ more for looks but it will help

if i ever get the chance to turn it into a track car it will be fully gutted but i like driving it on the street.


There's a guy around my area not sure if he's on this forum but his S4 is a road course car, fully gutted.
All interior and carpet
radio
a.c.
window regulator motors
only things inside are top part of the dash, shifter two seats and a full cage.
his engine bay has so much room from him removing stuff

Can't believe no one said light weight battery. I run a pc680, dropped 35pd quick. Ive dropped a good amount of weight myself.

Lighter battery is a biggie... but main thing is wheels... unsprung weight is where its at.

Yup, lightweight batteries rock. Take off more weight than a CF hood.
