ECM FLASH in Toronto

Hello everyone,

New Audi owner, recently bought myself a 2001 2.8 A6. LOVE HER but...

Ive been plagued with the P0431/P0421 code. It comes and goes whenever it pleases. Ive purchased the service documents pertaining that Audi's O2 sensors may have been set too aggressive therefore causing this code. An ECM flash by the dealer should get rid of this agressive programming

This is the first step Id like to take before replacing any parts. Ive received some hesitation from the Mississauga dealer saying that they want to do a whole check and that its probably nothing to do with software but the cats need to be replaced at a cost of 2000 per.

Can anyone recommend a dealer or someone that they have dealings with so that I can have this initial thing done?

It would be much appreciated.

I doubt the dealer is gonna help you unless theres a recall. Either way you have to pay 100 bucks for the diagnostic for them to even do anything to your car. Just go to bryan at independant tuning and have it over with.

Or get them to scan your vin and see if theres a recall (call audi)

I spoke to Brian at Independant and he cant due to ECM flash for this issue.

Again Id rather pay in increments rather than dropping 2000 bucks to replace the cats and the annoying light stays on.

As for the recall, Audi doesnt recognize it as a recall. They call it a Service Bulletin and the cost isnt something they are willing to cover.

So I guess its off to the dealer I go. If they are willing to do the flash (with a cost ofcourse) Ill let everyone know.

Yes factory reflash. I can go today if necessary. However, Ill be out of town until next week if it cant be done today.

On a side note, you should be able to replace the cats with non OEM for a lot less money. 2k for cats is crazy... I think Milltek cats are like 800 each. :)
