What he said. I took a look at an SRT4's I/C when a buddy of mine swapped his out. Half a dozen people wanted to mock it up top see if it'll fit. Including 240SX's, FC-RX7's, etc. That intercooler is made specifically for that car. The endtanks are just wrong for our cars.
I have a 28x7.5x2.5 I/C as well. It can fit with some trimming, but there's no need to have it hang that low. Hot side the A/C lines are in the way which makes piping a bitch, but you still want the inlet/outlets on the bottom. I wouldn't even attempt to fit a 3" core behind the stock bumper, unless you're willing to part with your A/C. I'm not going to use that I/C, I'm going to use something smaller. If you want it, PM me, I'll give you a good deal.
Here's my car w/ the bumper off, you can see the A/C lines are in the way of the hotside. I also don't have the middle 30" of my bumper support either. It was removed to make room for the I/C.
