Which Wideband should I buy?? Zeitronix vs. Innovative

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So, I've got the option of picking up one of two very very good wideband setups, but I can't decide which one I would like to buy more. First up is the Innovative XD-16 Standalone system, which uses the LC-1 controller.

    http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/xd16.php

The other is the Zeitronix Zt-2 wideband controller with the LCD display

    http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm#LCD

Both are great units and have a lot of the same features, but I'm torn on which one would be easier to set up, look better on my dash (the Innovative can fit into a gauge pod, while the Zeitronix would sit somewhere on the dash), and which is better for data logging. So, my question to everyone is, what is your experience with these controllers? If anyone could provide ANY level of feedback, it would really help a lot (especially those that might've had both)....I'm currently leaning more towards the Zeitronix.....but please help

yea, they've got a new full color LCD which looks AMAZING...unfortunately, thats not part of the ridiculous deal that i'd be getting......do you also have an EGT sensor hooked up to ur wideband setup?

I have 6 customers sell their Zeitronix and replaced it with an LC-1.

The exact reason I have no idea.

^^^Now thats a lil discouraging since I was leaning towards the Zeitronix....

Anyone care to chime in on the LC-1 and XD-16 and how easy they are to use?

The XD-16 is a great setup and easy to install.

Two local guys that traded in their Zeitronix for the LC-1 and one of my dual VEI gauges was due to the fact they can see the display on the column instead of having to look down at the controller. Their primary interest was in boost and AFR.

Re: Which Wideband should I buy?? Zeitronix vs. Innovative

Hmm, thats a very good point....the LCD display on the Zeitronix is fairly small, while the XD-16 is more readable.....I'm actually only really interested in boost and AFR as well, but I think it would be nice to be able to view EGT's as well, just to have another area to log the car....but, my car is just a daily driver and will hardly see the track (if at all), so how important is the EGT-measuring function for my setup (see signature)?

Re: Which Wideband should I buy?? Zeitronix vs. Innovative

From what I know/read/been told, using EGTs to tune the car was done before the advent of accurate AFR devices.

If the AFR is on target then your EGTs should not be excessive.

Now if I am totally off base with this information someone please correct.

Re: Which Wideband should I buy?? Zeitronix vs. Innovative

^^U need a membership to view the second page with all the results, but I'm getting the impression that the Innovative unit might be the way to go since it is capable of re-calibration.....which sounds like a very essential feature.

Are there any good EGT sensors and gauges on the market for an affordable price if I decide I want to get readings for that?

For all those who care, just found a VERY useful piece of info from the second page of that article. A comparison test for all the popular widebands:

Looks like i'm going with the Innovative unit

The calibration feature comes in handy since it extends how long you can go before needing to change out the 02 sensor.
