so is it possible for these to start going bad an not throw any codes (or show up in VAG)? does someone have before & after experience (replacement) that can describe symptoms...

Bad gas mileage, misfires, I've never seen it not show up through a VAG scan. You can log on/off temps. Can't rember which block(s) off the top of my head. 112? It should only show one spec temp for each(on&off).

Yes it's block 112

It should read 1035 with the car off and 945 with the car on. If they are bad, either they wont be reading or they will be reading something different.

Got it. I'm getting some of this already, so I was just curious. I randomly ran block 112 the other day and remember seeing 945, so these might be alright then. I double check one of these days...
